Job Description:

A DIRECT HIRE, Software Engineer role is open for an exciting local software company in the Capital District. The Software Engineer is predominantly responsible for a project's 'backend components '. The Software Engineer will seek to innovate and to solve problems. You'll have the opportunity to learn about a client's business and contribute ideas that provide value. You'll explore new technology and integrate cutting edge systems, manage the deployment pipeline and improve infrastructure.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Database development
  
• Application architecture
  
• API development and myriad 3rd party intergrations.
  
• Analyze requirements for new software systems
  
• Carry out the successful design and implementation of the solution.
  
• Develop across all tiers (client, middle, database).
  
• Java Software Engineer will contribute directly to a continuously progressing product and process.
  
  What You Will Need To Bring to the Table:
  
  
  
  
  • B.S. in Computer Science with
    
  • 3+ years of development experience on a commercial project
    
  • Strong back end programming skills with Java and Spring or .Net
    
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects
    
  • High quality of --work and standards
    
  • Love for testing and debugging
    
  • Desire to learn new technologies
    
    Language Specific and Desired Skills:
    
    
    
    
    • 2+ years of experience with .NET web frameworks (e.g. ASP.NET, MVC, Spark)
      
    • 2+ years of experience with C#
      
    • 2+ years of experience with JavaScript libraries (e.g. YUI, JQuery)
      
    • 2+ years of experience with CSS and HTML
      
    • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and stored procedures
      
    • Experience with queries and schema design
      
    • Familiarity with AJAX, REST and JSON
      
    • Familiarity with Test Driven Development, unit testing and behavior-driven development
