Job Description:
Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located
in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in
Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and
certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts;
Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
(STEM). Hudson Valley is one of 30 community colleges in the State
University of New York (SUNY) system and serves nearly 9,000

Systems Administrator

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or
related field and three years of experience in programming/system
administration OR Associate degree in Computer Science or related
field and five years of experience in programming/system
administration OR seven years of experience in programming/system
administration. Integration experience of Blackboard and/or
Brightspace D2L with Ellucian Banner. Experience with managing
plug-ins/LTIs/tools in a Learning Management System. Experience
with patch management and quality assurance to check for
regressions during testing and upgrades.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a higher education
environment supporting a distance education department, faculty,
and students.
Nature and Scope of Duties:
The Senior Operations Coordinator reports to the Manager of
Administrative Application Integration and/or his/her designee and
performs the following duties:
1. Provides system analysis, system design, implementation
planning, and documentation preparation for necessary enhancements
to the learning management system's integration with the enterprise
information systems.
2. Perform Patch management tasks include: maintaining current
knowledge of available patches, deciding what patches are
appropriate for particular systems, ensuring that patches are
installed correctly, testing systems after installation, checking
for regressions, and documenting all associated procedures.
3. Create and maintain user accounts and security access within
applications under the enterprise operations domain.
4. Maintain documented policies and procedures that fully describe
processes, integrations, and operations of those areas of
responsibility.
5. Aid in adopting modern technology and supporting applications
integrated with enterprise information systems.
6. Provides support for Third Party software interfacing with
enterprise information systems, including but not limited to
plug-ins, LTIs, and other 3rd party component integrations.
7. Maintains up-to-date knowledge and skill with current
information technology systems.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time 37.5 hour work week positions with a salary
range of $65,000-$70,000.
