Albany Medical Center, an acclaimed health system known for innovative patient care, medical education and biomedical research, is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse II for our specialized C4/C3W units focusing on Infectious Disease and Security. This role is pivotal in providing expert nursing care in a high-containment area, ensuring both patient safety and high standards of infection control. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to nurturing a compassionate environment for patients undergoing treatment for infectious diseases in a secure setting. Administer medications and treatments to patients while adhering to hospital protocols. Monitor patient conditions continuously; report any changes to the attending doctor. Maintain strict compliance with infection control standards to prevent contamination. Educate patients and their families on disease management and preventive measures. Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members to facilitate integrated and comprehensive care. Participate in research and clinical trials as required. Strong clinical skills with a focus on infectious diseases Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficient in the use of medical software and electronic health records Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred
