Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Albany, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,357 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:30 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS required Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients. Respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications are among the conditions treated. Candidates must be competent in the care of medical and surgical populations. Advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols, is also required. Experience with antihypertensive, sedative, and narcan drips, as well as thrombo-embolytics, is essential. Understanding of central venous pressure monitoring, external ventricular drainage, orthopedic traction, and infection prevention protocols is important. Familiarity with high-flow nasal cannula, BiPap/Cpap, and oxypendent is necessary. Nurses with large scale adult Progressive Care Unit experience or community hospital ICU experience tend to excel in this role. The average patient load is three high acuity patients.
