The Respiratory Therapist will provide specialized respiratory care to patients across all age groups, including those requiring advanced airway management, ventilator support, and emergency respiratory interventions. This role is essential in ensuring optimal pulmonary function, supporting critical care teams, and delivering high-quality, evidence-based respiratory therapy in a fast-paced hospital environment. Qualifications: Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred; CRT considered with strong experience Minimum 1 year of recent acute-care respiratory therapy experience (ICU, ED, or step-down preferred) Strong knowledge of ventilator management, airway care, ABG analysis, and respiratory pharmacology Ability to respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations and rapidly changing patient conditions Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills BLS required; ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP preferred depending on patient population Responsibilities: Assess patients' respiratory status and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and clinical findings Administer respiratory therapies, including nebulizers, oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP, chest physiotherapy, and humidity therapy Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators and advanced airway devices Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and assist providers in clinical decision-making Respond to rapid response calls, code blues, and emergent respiratory situations Document all treatments, assessments, and patient responses accurately in the EMR Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment use Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring safety and functionality SnapCare Benefits: End of Shift Payments Medical, dental, vision, life, disability Guaranteed Hours Why work for SnapCare: Get end-of-shift pay through our Paymint app. Enjoy comprehensive benefits that cover medical, dental, vision care and more.
