Job Description Unit Description: Wound Care RNs are responsible
for the Skin and Wound Care Department at Central Vermont Medical
Center (CVMC) and Woodridge Skilled Nursing Facility (WDR), which
is known for their advanced wound treatments. The Wound Care RN
provides direct care to patients and families, as well as teaching
and preparation for continuing care - the clinical experts and
resource for WDR residents. The Wound Care RN provides professional
nursing care to newborn through end-of-life patients in varying
states of health and illness through assessment, planning,
implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s health needs and
goals. The Wound Care Nurse demonstrates clinical leadership skills
through mentoring, providing educational programs for staff, and
modeling excellent clinical and customer service. The role has
three primary functions. These are specialty clinical practice,
management of evidenced based practice skin/wound care,
administrative development and support. Requirements: BSN, CWCN
certification within one year of hire required, two years of
clinical experience preferred, and leadership or nursing education
experience preferred. On-call: Not required. Incentives: $10,000 RN
