Position DescriptionThe Health Support Specialist works under the supervision of the Residential Manager and Registered Nurse, and in cooperation with a person's medical and psychiatric providers. This position assists people enrolled in The Arc of Rensselaer County programs to maintain good health and well being. They will also support the residential team with managing health care appointments, maintain health records and play a key role in the implementation of nursing plans of care.

Salary is $14.28 per hour.

Schedule: Shifts include one regularly scheduled weekend day, may include one to two evening shifts a week

Requirements:

A HS Diploma or GED and 2 years of experience working in human services

Must be able to complete training curriculum if hired

Valid NYS Driver's License with at least one year of non-permit driving experience

Must have vehicle for use in this position

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Must be comfortable giving individuals direct care including assisting with personal hygiene tasks.
