If you are ready to join a thriving, mission-driven company where you can create your own opportunities and make a positive difference-it's time to make a healthy career move to MVP Sr. Director of Commercial Sales & Account Management in the East Region has overall responsibility for the activities of the Large Group Account Management team and Large Group New Business Sales team for Hudson Valley, Capital Region, and Vermont. Director will be responsible for assuring smooth, timely and professional performance of the department with the primary responsibility of writing new large cases and expanding membership of existing cases through brokers, consultants and direct sales activity that meets or exceeds projections each year. Conducts regularly scheduled meetings of staff to monitor sales progress and provide continued training, education, support, and direction for regional sales strategy. Ensures sales metrics are met and takes corrective action if they are not. Takes a leadership role in the sales strategies of prospects and existing accounts. Maintains visibility in the community through active participation in civic, business, and charitable organizations. Takes a leadership role in selection, orientation, training, motivation, and performance management of staff as needed. Assists the Vice President of Commercial Sales with other projects as needed. Provides key regional input into the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of regional growth strategies, as well as general sales strategy and public relations activities. Performs other duties as assigned by management. East Region includes Dutchess, Orange, Westchester counties and surrounding area's Hybrid to Fishkill, Schenectady or Tarrytown Position Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in business related field. Minimum Experience: Six (6) years' experience in progressively responsible sales/account management positions, including three (3) years sales/account management and supervisory experience within a managed care organization, health insurance carrier, third party administrator or related industry. Required Skills: Must possess, or obtain within 60 days from date of hire, New York State Insurance License in life, accident, and health. Must obtain the MVP Medicare Certification Training within 60 days from date of hire, or prior to first sale, whichever comes first. Superior project management and planning skills. Excellent organizational skills essential. Working knowledge and detailed understanding of sales and account management tools, processes, techniques, and principles. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, formulates strategy, and makes decisions using data and good business judgment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of health care industry. Negotiation and underwriting skills. Sales forecasting and budgeting experience. Strong leadership skills. Valid drivers' license and access to vehicle. Frequent travel within MVP's service area.
