OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for a Sr.
Construction Director for our New York, NY office. Be involved in
projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization
that meets our clients objectives and solves their challenges. The
candidate will lead delivery of infrastructure improvements, serve
as a trusted advisor to public sector agencies, manage teams of
field engineers and construction inspectors, coordinate with design
engineers for submittal reviews, coordinate staffing requirements
and recruitment needs to our public and private clients
construction schedules.Your Impact
- Serve as Sr. Director of Construction Management/Program
Management
- Work with Top Level Contractors on Mega-Projects or Major
Programs
- Prepare and/or oversee scope, schedule and budget preparation
and negotiations for WSP services
- Lead project teams to achieve overall project objectives.
- Work closely with clients to meet and exceed their
expectations.
- Provide leadership and oversight to ensure quality project
deliverables commensurate with quality standards and client
requirements.
- Maintain schedule, budget, and profitability for projects, and
identify changes and risks.
- Coordinate with design disciplines that support the
construction phase of projects
- Assist in the management, mentorship, growth and development of
the PMCM team.
- Provide local leadership, partnering closely with the Local
Business Leader and Senior Management Team.
- Focus on meeting Key Performance Indicators and contribute to
the overall success of the Northeast Region and the New York
District.
- Engage with clients to identify new business leads and project
pursuits.
- Support business development initiatives and assist with
marketing and key pursuits
- Identify and foster positive relationships with potential
project partners to secure new work.
- Represent the firm in the market through involvement in client
and industry events and associations.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding
company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPs Code of
Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business
needsWho You AreRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related
- 15+ years of construction experience in transportation and
infrastructure (highway, rail or marine), utilities, and energy
sectors
- Experience leading field staff of 25+ people
- New York PE
- Experience managing infrastructure projects for public and
private sector clients
- Experience participating in business development strategy
development and implementation
- Strong management/leadership skills
- Strongly established client relationships and industry
contacts
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects
- Self-starter with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal
communication skills and ability to work within a team
environment
- Collaborative leadership
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding
company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of
Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability
to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment
policies
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle
screening.Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science Degree in Engineering or related/MBA
- 20+ years of construction expereince preferred
- Experience with NYSDOT and Class 1 Railroads
- Experience in cable placement in a marine/submarine
environment
- Experience mentoring and developing junior staff
- PMP Certification
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM)Compensation and
