$500 Sign On Bonus! Viking Child Care Center at Hudson Valley Community College has immediate full time openings for two Infant teachers and four Toddler teachers (as of 1/16/2023). We are looking for qualified professionals who are enthusiastic about early care and education to come join our team. The ideal candidates must have the minimum qualifications required and perform the duties and responsibilities listed below:Qualifications: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred; and Experience in an early childhood care settingDuties and Responsibilities: Provide attentive care in a nurturing environment Provide a classroom environment that is developmentally appropriate and responsive to childrens strengths, interests and needs to promote the social, emotional, physical and educational development and growth of each child Ensure the classroom is stocked with materials and supplies that reflect diverse images. Initiate activities and discussions to build self-identity and teach the value of differences Provide and promote positive guidance and discipline while supervising children Establish and maintain positive, supportive relationships with families, children, staff and collaborators Conduct parent teacher conferences at least twice a year to discuss the development and growth of the children Complete all required paperwork including weekly lesson plans, weekly parent newsletters, anecdotal records, workshop summaries, student intern and work study student evaluations, and other paperwork as needed Knowledgeable of all Child Care guidelines and able to implements those that relate to the teaching position Work cooperatively with co-teacher, center staff and special education services Work within a community college environment Participate in fundraising and public relation events sponsored by the center Attend and participate in center staff meetings Show enthusiasm, teamwork and a positive attitude toward job Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment and be responsible for the care, cleanliness and daily preparation of learning areas Perform all reasonable related duties as assigned by the Director, Assistant Director or their designeeWe offer competitive salaries based on educational level and experience, tuition assistance for SUNY classes and a rewarding career in our modern facility.
