This position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions to support the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of the production process. As an entry-level role, the primary responsibility is to work under the direction of the Yard Crew Leader and Transportation Manager, providing essential support to the team. The Ground Person is also responsible for the loading, unloading, and shipping of precast concrete units. Essential Functions: 1. Safety always wins. Transport finished products and other items throughout the facility using manual labor and equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes, while strictly adhering to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment at all times. 2. Dedication. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the worksite, including sweeping, removing debris, and organizing tools and equipment. 3. Results matter. Prepare and stage materials and tools for the next day to ensure an efficient workflow. Communicate any missing materials or required information to the Crew Leader to prevent workflow interruptions. 4. Humility. Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines, utilizing two-way radios and hand signals for clear and efficient communication. Position Requirements Requirements, Education and Experience: 1. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. 2. Prior experience in a construction or manufacturing environment is advantageous but not required. 3. A basic understanding of construction tools and machinery is beneficial. 4. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately. 5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. 6. Forklift certification is a plus but not required. 7. Yard Horse certification required. 8. Reliable transportation is required. 9. Work Environment/Physical Demands: This position works outdoors in varying weather. Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
